About the Author:

John D. Gonglewski, Ph.D., studied mathematics and art history at Indiana University, and subsequently worked as a research physicist at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory, The Space Technology Center, and the Air Force Research Laboratory. The Airborne Laser was among his projects. His special interest is international cooperation, and has worked on technology development with the UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the former Soviet Union. He has written more than two hundred scientific publications, edited three books on optical physics, chaired more than 30 international symposia, and is a Fellow of the Optical Society. Since moving into the realm of fiction, he has written three novels, Brightman's First Law, Catchers in the Sky, and The First Laser Warriors.
