About the Author:

MARY ("PEGGY") WISHAM FENSTERMACHER was born and raised in the county seat of Cumberland County ~ Bridgeton, New Jersey. She enjoyed the childhood pleasures of growing up on her family's farm complete with a barn full of laying hens, a black Cocker Spaniel, and a Shetland pony. She attended Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina, from 1970 - 1972 and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in English at Kutztown State College (now University) located in Kutztown, Pennsylvaniain 1975. Mary has been an elementary teacher in various Christian and Public schools in Pennsylvaniaand Maine for over 20 years. She has taught every grade level from pre-kindergarten through grade eight, Title I Literacy, special education classes, and elementary classroom music. She homeschooled each of her own five children for several years. In 1986, Mary was accepted into the Institute of Children's Literature where she began her adventure in writing! Mary is currently the Music Director and Organist at the Dixfield Congregational Church, Dixfield, Maine, and teaches private piano lessons to students in the local area. She lives in Peru, Maine, with her husband, Todd. They have five grown children and four grandchildren.
