Della Rawlins has seen much during her adventurous career as a photojournalist—but nothing like what she just witnessed in Abbottabad, Pakistan. While on assignment for Today magazine, Della’s partner, Aaron, was beaten and captured during a helicopter raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound. Somehow she managed to escape, but now she has no idea where Aaron is being held or if he is even still alive.
After deciding she needs time to regroup, Della takes a photographic assignment in the Canadian wilderness. But it is not long before her solitude is invaded by Brad Jamieson, a wildlife conservationist who wants to protect her from the dangerous world of foreign politics. While Della longs to leave political intrigue behind and start a new life, she is unfortunately shackled to the past by a secret that has placed her in the crosshairs of a vicious enemy. Now she must rely on courage and determination to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds and fight for her country’s integrity and her own freedom.
In this action-adventure romance, a photojournalist and a conservationist embark on an international journey to the truth as lives, hearts, and the future of a presidency hang in the balance.
“Carving out a new niche in contemporary romance, the author draws you into the violent world of Middle Eastern politics that keeps you on the edge of your seat.”
Karen Rowe, author of Mass Influence: The Habits of the Highly Influential People

About the Author:
Norma’s writing career started shortly after her banking career. She spent eight years of her life hating her job every day. She would spend her time daydreaming about characters in faraway places doing exciting things, and began writing in her head. She left banking to become the new bookkeeper for her husband’s company, and was responsible for accounting and HR for two garages and sixteen employees. She found that the world of running a business sucked every bit of creativity out of her and for several years, her creative self lay dormant. She had always enjoyed reading, and Danielle Steele, Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown provided her escape from the drudgery of the everyday grind. As time passed, she found the responsibilities of being homemaker, child raiser, elder caregiver, wife, and business partner, to be draining the life out of her. She looked forward to the end of the day, when everyone had gone to bed, for her life to begin. She stayed up late, burning the midnight oil, escaping into a book, and living vicariously through the characters that came to life on the page. She found herself daydreaming more and more about characters in faraway places doing exciting things, and once again she began writing in her head. One day she decided to write some of it down, and suddenly the story developed a life of its own. It was really writing itself. Every time she got stuck, and didn’t know where it was going next, she turned on the TV or go to the Internet and something would jump out at her as the solution to her roadblock. She found the process to be much like painting: start with the background, decide on the focal point, and use contrast and texture to bring the subject to life. And thus Norma Cook, the author was born.
