Deborah Gilboa, MD, aka Doctor G is a Pittsburgh-based parenting expert, Family Physician, international speaker, author, media expert and mom of four boys. She developed the 3 R s of Parenting to empower parents to raise respectful, responsible and resilient kids, and in response to the years of character building questions she s received from her patients. Chosen for Pittsburgh Magazine s 40 Under 40, she has also received numerous awards including the Bristol Meyers Squibb award for Clinical Excellence and The Excellence in Teaching Award. Doctor G is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine and a frequent speaker at her alma mater, Carnegie Mellon University. She is a regular guest on CBS Pittsburgh Today Live, ABC s Windy City Live, Band host/parenting expert of WQED s iQ SmartParent. She contributes regularly to Huffington Post Parents, Your Teen magazine, Parents magazine and MSNBC.com. Doctor G is the host and spokesperson for the 2014 Parenting Expo series taking place in Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. Her three little books are popular go-to, user-friendly parenting advice books, Teach Resilience: Raising Kids Who Can Launch!, Teach Responsibility: Empower Kids with a Great Work Ethic, and her latest, Teach Respect: That s My Kid! were designed for today s busy parents with age specific tips and ideas for building character in kids.
