This Rapid Assessment Program (RAP) bulletin reports on the findings of the 2002 AquaRAP survey of the aquatic ecosystems of the Gulf of Paria and Orinoco Delta in Venezuela. The volume examines the fishes and macroinvertebrates of the shallow water ecosystems in this habitat, and also includes excerpted information from previous studies on the geology and other animals of the region.

About the Author:
Carlos Lasso is the national director of research and curator of fishes at the La Salle Foundation in Venezuela. Leeanne Alonso is vice-president for Field Assessment, Research, and Monitoring at Conservation International. Ana Liz Flores is technical director for Conservation International, Venezuela. Greg Love is field manager for the Energy and Mining Program at Conservation International's Center for Environmental Leadership in Business.
