About the Author:
“My ultimate goal is a worldwide grassroots movement dedicated to ensuring the full humanity and individual rights of women and girls. This is too important an issue to leave to governments alone.”

In 2002, Jane Roberts and Lois Abraham independently came up with the idea of asking 34 million Americans to reach out to the world’s women with one dollar. This has become 34 Million Friends, a grassroots effort which has garnered more than $2.7 million, saved lives, lessened misery and sent a wonderful message to the world from the American people.

For these efforts, Jane and Lois were two of the 1000 women nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2005 by the 1000 Peace Women Project out of UNESCO in Bern, Switzerland. The nomination seeks to symbolize the countless women all over the globe who work to bring peace into the world from their own unique circumstances and talents.

Jane Roberts is a retired French teacher and tennis coach. She lives with her husband Julian Roberts in California. They have two grown children.
