'Penguin on the Rocks' is an account of life on a Royal Air Force Regiment Squadron in Malaya at the time of the Indonesian Confrontation. Seen through the eyes of an airman (penguin) attached to the squadron, it's often very humorous, robust, thoughtful and eye opening. It covers just over one year (1966) but is packed with tales of jungle patrols, parachute training and encounters with snakes, leeches and blood sucking mosquitoes. It's a must read for anyone interested in the military and for those who enjoy an easy read with lots of laughs.
