About the Author:
"Half Shell" Lori McKean has been a force in the Northwest culinary community for over 15 years. Her work as a chef, cooking instructor and food stylist complements her many writing credits including several favorite Northwest themed cookbooks. Her love of oysters is a driving passion and shows through in this great bivalve tome. Lori lives on a quiet corner of Whidbey Island with her medal-winning English Mastiff, Kuma.

Cap't. "Oyster Bill" Whitbeck is a man who has lived near the sea all his life and has an insatiable love for oysters. Born in Connecticut on Long Island Sound, Oyster Bill lived and worked within blocks of the water and counted among his best friends, the oyster growers and fellow lovers of Long Island oysters. Now transplanted to the Pacific Northwest, he enjoys the variety of oysters available there, and he can be found at nearly every oyster event around. As a mariner, he holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100-ton Master's License and spends as much time as possible on his custom-made replica Maine lobster boat plying the waters of Puget Sound and beyond.
