Cap't. "Oyster Bill" Whitbeck is a man who has lived near the sea all his life and has an insatiable love for oysters. Born in Connecticut on Long Island Sound, Oyster Bill lived and worked within blocks of the water and counted among his best friends, the oyster growers and fellow lovers of Long Island oysters. Now transplanted to the Pacific Northwest, he enjoys the variety of oysters available there, and he can be found at nearly every oyster event around. As a mariner, he holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100-ton Master's License and spends as much time as possible on his custom-made replica Maine lobster boat plying the waters of Puget Sound and beyond.
