About the Author:
Anthony G. Hodge was born 1 August 1948. He is an author and illustrator, whose work is regularly exhibited. He has taught art to adults and children for 30 years.
From School Library Journal:
Grade 5 Up-- Hodge presents an introduction to collage in 16 double-page spreads, each of which explores a single concept or element of design. This is a brief overview for novices who want basic information. There are sets of books in print on each concept--this volume is solely to stimulate thinking and encourage practice. The illustrations and compact text complement and amplify one another. Readers learn that recycling found objects can lead to some lovely, intensely personal creations. Not intended for craftspeople who need detailed instruction on composition, design, color and message, Collage will be useful as a jumping off point. --Carole B. Kirkpatrick, Terminal Park Elementary School, Auburn, WA
