About the Author:
Editor in Chief, Zhang Boyu received his PhD from Finland Turku University and is currently professor and chair of the musicology department at the Central Conservatory of Music. In 1988, he was granted a post-doctoral fellowship at the International Institute for Asian Studies in Denmark. In 2001, he was awarded by the Asian Scholarship Foundation funded by the American Ford Foundation to conduct research in India. From 2005 to 2006, he was awarded a Fulbright to conduct visiting research at Wesleyan University, USA. Publications include: *Mathematical Rhythmic Structure of Chinese Percussion Music--An Analytical Study of Shifan Luogu Collections* (in English 1997), and *Survey of "Music Society" in Quantou Village, Anxin County, Hebei Province* (Hebei Anxinxian Quantoucun "Yinyuehui" Kaocha, 2003).
