This book is an important book for every instructional leader faced with implementing more rigorous and systematic writing instruction to meet standards. The text includes a wealth of examples and checklists. --Kathy Ganske, Professor of the Practice of Literacy, Vanderbilt University

Given the key role of writing as a tool for both communication and improving students' reading performance, this book is a must-read for principals, literacy leaders, and teachers.
