About the Author:
Avital Ronell a dirigé la chaire de littérature germanique à New York University (NYU) et supervise aujourd''hui le programme des Etudes sur le traumatisme et la violence. Née à Prague, elle a étudié à Berlin avec Jacob Taubes, à Paris avec Jacques Derrida, et a passé son doctorat à Princeton où elle enseigne également. Elle a été professeur à Berkeley, puis à NYU. Elle a animé avec Jacques Derrida des séminaires d''analyse déconstructive sur des sujets aussi variés que les nouvelles technologies, la guerre du Golfe, le sida, la musique ou les phénomènes d''addiction.
