Over the last few years, the concept of false memoryhas become a topic of great interest to cognitive psychologists. The idea that people remember" events that have never occurred is aphenomena that has profound implications for many fields within andoutside of psychology. This project was designed as a 2x2 between-subjectstudy that closely follows procedures related to theDeese-Roediger-McDermott (DRM) paradigm comparing study phases against test phasesand blocked word lists against random word lists. In thisexperiment we explore the conditions that produce false memories using highassociation word lists constructed to elicit critical lures. Wealso measure and investigate the reaction times of participants todetermine if it is possible for the human mind to differentiate betweentrue memories false memories."
