Description:

Light tan cloth boards have a red floral decoration on the front cover and red lettering on the spine. Top edge orange. Covers are quite clean, with the exception of a few tiny speckles of foxing at the top of the covers. Extremities are a little dust soiled and rubbed. Spine is bumped and rubbed at head and foot. Orange and white floral patterned endpp. are very clean, signed by the author on the p. opposite the title p. Text is very clean, embellished with numerous b/w illustrations in text. D.j. is clean, complete, and intact. Front panel, spine, and flap folds are a little darkened, minimal dust soil. Corners of flap folds, spine folds are a little rubbed, chipped, and creased. The author was English tutor to Crown Prince Akihito 1946-1950. Nice copy, digital image available. Bookseller Inventory # 003008
