Seaweeds of the British Isles: Part 3a : Thodophyta - Ceramiales - Softcover
The synthesis of many years research carried out by members of the British Phycological Society in collaboration with The Natural History Museum, this is the sixth in the series, "Seaweeds of the British Isles", which, when complete, will cover all the British and the majority of Northern Atlantic Seaweeds. This volume is written by leading authorities in Red Algae and uses current research. All families, genera and species in the Ceramiales are described, notes on ecology and distribution given, and each named species is illustrated to show distinctive features. User-friendly keys are provided to enable identification of species and genera. A special feature of this volume is a complete re-evaluation of the higher taxa included within the order. In addition, one new genus, several new species and a number of new combinations are proposed.
