The Title Page is inscribed (including date-1980) and signed by Percy Young. This will undoubtedly be addressed to the owner of the Library label on ffep verso, K.E.L. Simmons, who had other of his books similarly signed. Simmons was an eminent ornithologist and music-lover, an authority on Grebes - hence the very attractively-designed bookplate. The book is in very nice clean condition, with no additional marks, annotations etc, but has a light speckling of foxing to page block edges. Dustwrapper price-clipped by publisher and his label added to front foldover (DOBSON Net Price £7.50)-otherwise very neat and tidy indeed (VG+).The back panel advertises 2 further books on Elgar-related material, edited by Percy Young.
