This book does not add any new dimensions to the future world of the series and, with its political overtones and pacing, is more a technothriller than, like its series mates, a classic hard-boiled detective story set in the future. It is, however, as readable as any of its predecessors, and Shatner includes enough hints on future developments that we can safely assume many more Tek novels are forthcoming. Roland Green
