Andrew's experiences read like a thriller. Powerfully written, his story holds the reader spellbound from beginning to end to discover the answers. Is his leg saved? Does he live or die? Does he find love? And does he learn to fly? Thrills and spills, graphic descriptions of life in England and Zambia.
The story of his shining spirit and his determination to achieve his dreams and optimise his health, is an inspiration to all who have been touched by cancer. The importance of support from people around him is an example to those who have friends and family going through the same ordeal.
Fly with a Miracle provides invaluable feedback for patients undergoing treatment for cancer, as well as for their family and friends. The medical and healthcare professions also have remarked on the essential feedback that the story has provided for them.
Although the book offers hope and courage and is written by established author, Sheila Belshaw, who is herself the mother of the patient, it is also a great read for the general public and will keep people on the edge of their seats whilst the astonishing story unfolds!
The Foreword is written by Mr Justin P Cobb, MCh FRCS, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, at The Middlesex Hospital, London, where the operation was first pioneered by Sir Rodney Sweetnam. The book has been edited with the help of the medical team who took part in the revolutionary treatment, which pointed the way forward for Andrew.

Many people have contacted Denor Press about Fly with a Miracle and the most common feedback is that they “could not put the book down and read it from cover to cover throughout the night!”
It has been an inspiration to know and work with the Belshaw family – the author, Sheila, and her son Andrew, are truly heroic in their positive attitude and achievements, showing how adversity in health can be overcome.

Andrew was diagnosed with cancer at eighteen, and because of his courage I wanted to show other patients - young and old - how the human spirit can overcome inconceivable adversity. How a positive attitude can actually influence your immune system, boosting any conventional treatment you are having.
We're just an ordinary family that got unlucky. Many families will identify with us because they would cope in the same way as we did - with love and determination. There's nothing stronger than a mother's love for her child - and a father's. When my child's life was threatened I discovered a new strength. You are ready to kill to save your child.
It wouldn't be fair to say Andrew didn't suffer. But he fought against it, "singing his own song", calling on all his strength to achieve his aspirations. In spite of pain you can still love well, play well, laugh well. You must believe you will survive. Even say out loud: 'I can get through this!' Andrew's dream was to become a pilot. Nothing was going to stop him.
Although structured like a novel, every word is true: the drama of the revolutionary treatment, the challenges Andrew sets himself and the exciting way he meets them, the obstacles thrust in his path.
This story had to be told.
