From School Library Journal:
Grade 2-4What can one say about a 24- year-old woman who has not done any thing except be gorgeous and marry the future King of England? Greene has written an easy-to-read biography of Princess Diana that is straightforward and unexciting. The most dramatic mo ment in Diana's childhood was when her mother, nanny and governess all left at the same time. It seems that Di ana kept a stiff upper lip and marched off to a series of boarding schools where "she was never the smartest girl in her class. But she loved swimming, ballet, and helping other people." As a teenager visiting her older sisters in their London apartment, she thought "cleaning was fun." When she met Charles, she thought he was "pretty amazing." However, where there is an interest in Princess Diana, this will help to fill the gap. The glossy paper, numer ous photographs, wide margins, large typeface and color photo of Diana on the cover make this a physically attrac tive book. It is easier to read than Da vid J. Darling's Diana: the People's Princess (Dillon, 1984) and is more sub stantial than Diana: the Fairy Tale Princess (Summit, 1983) by Lucy But ler.Kathleen M. Hall, Las Virgenes Unified School District, Westlake Vil lage, Calif.
