This is an account of life in the author's household which is dominated by Siamese cats. Tovey believes the longer one keeps Siamese cats the battier one gets. After the death of her husband, Doreen Tovey's West Country cottage seemed empty, with only herself and Saska, and so she bought Shantung. Following Saska's untimely death she aquired Saphra, who provides evidence to support Tovey's theory that cats are becoming more intelligent, no matter how many crazy things they do.

About the Author:
Doreen Tovey (1918–2008) was the author of more than a dozen books about the life she and her husband shared with their Siamese cats and other animals Somerset, England, including Cats in the Belfry and Cats in May. The books have sold more than 120,000 copies in 10 countries.
