About the Author:
Anna Ventura is an interior designer and writer living and working in Barcelona, Spain.
From Library Journal:
These books give practical interior decorating advice to amateurs. The Reader's Digest book is based on the decorating series "Creating Your Home." Much like Creative Home Decorating, the book that began the series, it combines all aspects of interior design but focuses on creating a particular look, such as a glamorous living room or a Scandinavian kitchen, with a review of the design aspects to consider. A number of do-it-yourself projects, from painting a room to installing vinyl flooring, conclude the book. Ventura's book begins with an overview of space, light, color, and furniture and continues with a thorough review of the options available when considering flooring, wall coverings, window treatments, color schemes, and lighting options for every room of the home. "Do and do not" tips are sprinkled throughout. Unlike the Reader's Digest book, Ventura's never veers off into how-to projects but focuses on providing all options available for an amateur designer. Both books are recommended for public libraries.
