McCartney founded Promise Keepers, the men's Christian renewal movement, in 1990 while coaching the University of Colorado's football team to a national championship. This confessional memoir traces his torturous road to these triumphs. Sixteen-hour days six to seven days per week led to coaching and religious successes but left no time for family.
