AUTHOR BIO: Melvin Weaver was born in Boynton Beach, Florida, the fourth son of a pioneer southeast Florida family. He was educated in the local public school system and attended the University of Florida where he received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree. Upon completion of his studies, he entered the dairy farming business and, eventually, along with his brothers and sister, operated farms in Palm Beach County, Florida and Nassau, Bahamas.
In 1970, the Weaver Development Corporation purchased Cypress Creek Country Club, a golf course/subdivision located in Palm Beach County and Melvin Weaver was appointed to the office of President of the Corporation and General Manager of the golf course. He remained at those duties until he retired in 1998.
Mr. Weaver is married and the father of four children, three daughters and a son. He is also the grandfather of seven, five boys and two girls.
