About the Author:

Michele Washington was raised in a small rural town, outside of Pittsburgh, PA. She excelled in writing in high school and won a scholarship to attend Point Park College in Pittsburgh. She transferred to Temple University where she graduated with a degree in Journalism. Upon graduation she joined Peace Corps to serve in Liberia, West Africa. She served in Peace Corps both as a volunteer and a staff member. After Peace Corps she lived and worked in Northern California where she raised her daughter, Kiah. She has traveled extensively through out Europe, China, Africa and Israel. Michele presently lives and works in Southern California. She is a member of the National Writers Association, and the Academy of American Poets.
