As a mother of two, author Nancy Phillips is keenly aware of the importance of teaching children financial skills early on before bad habits can occur. With this in mind, she created the Zela Wela Kids™ book series, for parents to teach their children these essential life skills. Each book in the series contains memorable, hand-drawn illustrations and age-appropriate, real-life situations that make it easy for children to understand the basics of financial literacy and key decision-making skills as they grow and mature. In Learn about Becoming Entrepreneurs, Jack, Emma, and their friends Carlos and Maria open a lemonade stand and learn important life lessons like: * the meaning of “entrepreneur” * the importance of creating new ideas * how to grow your money * the value of working as a team * the joy of giving * the pride that comes with setting and achieving a goal

About the Author:
Nancy Phillips created the Zela Wela Kids series to help provide parents fun, educational resources to teach their children the basics of financial literacy. She published The Zela Wela Kids Build a Bank in 2010 and The Zela Wela Kids Learn about Needs and Wants in 2011. Nancy has an Honors Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Queens University, Canada. She has twenty years of business experience including product development, portfolio management and international marketing. The birth of her first child in 2002 dramatically changed Nancy’s life and some of her primary goals. After becoming a mother, she had a new focus—teaching her children the skills they would need to thrive in our rapidly changing world. Nancy’s mission is to help create a financially literate society by providing children and young adults with valuable and enjoyable resources that encourage a basic understanding of personal finance and the process of goal achievement. She hopes that by talking about these important subjects, parents and children alike will be inspired to develop responsible financial habits that will increase their quality of life and enable them to achieve their true potential.
