About the Author:
Anna Jacobs grew up in Lancashire and emigrated to Australia in 1973, but loves to return to England and visit her family. She has two adult daughters and lives with her husband in a spacious waterfront home.

Stifled by her overbearing mother, Meriel finds a kindred spirit in her grandfather who teaches her to be self-sufficient and encourages her artistic nature. Forced to become an accountant, Meriel nonetheless continues her art studies. When her grandfather dies, she leaves England for Australia, where she can escape her mother and pursue her dream of being an artist even as she continues to work as an accountant. Client Ben Elless is a handsome man with no business acumen. Although she is attracted to him, he says all the wrong things. Meriel then wins the lottery, which enables her to become a full-time artist and move to the country. The place she has her heart set on buying turns out to be adjacent to property Ben inherited. Now neighbors, Meriel comes to the rescue when Ben has an accident, and, finally, they start to fall in love. But will Ben's business troubles destroy their chance at happiness?
