About the Author:
Barbara is married to Norman, an Aboriginal Australian and has a son, Michael. They live in Cairns, north Queensland, Australia. She is a pastor, mediator, psychologist and teacher. Barbara helped the Mapoon Aboriginal people move back to their land in 1974 after they had been moved off by police for a mine. She helped set up the North Queensland Land Council in 1978. She has written on Queensland discriminatory legislation and deaths in custody. In the 1990's, she was CEO of the Aboriginal local government.
