If truth stared you in the face but everyone called it a lie, would truth survive?

Pulitzer Prize winner Roger Charlin prepared for intense worldwide attention following publication of his next explosive exposé. It never crossed his mind that, instead, a seductive Israeli agent would lead him on a twisted roller coaster ride through the citadels of world power, energy resources, and truth.

What secret nuclear project is underway on Princeton’s campus? How much does Charlin know about the woman he’s falling for? How do they all connect? The drums of war in the Middle East reach a feverish pitch, and Charlin once just a reporter of history is now in a frantic race against time to shape it.

Daniel Jacobs’ The Eyes of Abel is a factually inspired, powerful, and prophetically captivating thriller about passion, the media, geopolitics, and international intrigue. Beyond the gripping pages, it challenges our understanding of the borders between fact, fiction, and the news.

From the Author:
Jacobs abandons the exhausted argument of who is right and who is wrong in the Middle East, and instead confronts the lens through which we view the region.
From the Back Cover:
A terrorist bomb turns a jumbo jet flying over San Francisco into a flying inferno. In the aftermath, a shocked American public is ready to relinquish its precious civil rights in order to prevent a repeat attack. However, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Roger Charlin refuses to let the authorities turn America into a police state akin to countries he so despises. While investigating, Charlin encounters Israeli Airlines security agent Maya Cohen, a witty and seductive match to his skepticism. The two soon become entwined in a top-secret race against time and powerful international interests. In an intriguing, high stakes cat-and-mouse game, Charlin discovers that Maya Cohen is far more than just a security agent at Israel Airlines. A lead about a top-secret nuclear project points to a chance to crash a weapons market fueled by oil-money and prevent an impending conflagration of the Middle East. Only Charlin, watching as journalists whip the region into a frenzy, can save everything. Now he must abandon his position on the sidelines and take on a critical role in history. In The Eyes of Abel, Daniel Jacobs skillfully challenges the role of journalism by presenting complex conflicts through a grippingly entertaining story that confronts the lens through which we view the Middle East.
Daniel Jacobs earned his medical doctorate with Alpha Omega Alpha honors at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and completed residencies in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Southern California. In the 1990s, Jacobs served as a medical officer in an elite Israeli Air Force extraction unit and served as a surgeon in Israel's largest hospital.  Today, he is a surgeon in California, where he grew up.
