The Governor's message is not about just the condition of the commonwealth but also how their peace has been disturbed by a rebellion taking place at Harpers Ferry. ".it was an extraordinary and actual invasion, by a sectional organization, specially upon slaveholders and upon their property in negro slaves. The home to be invaded was the home of domestic slavery."
