Rare and exceptional early 60's abstract intaglio print entitled "Isle Rouge," by American artist Gail Singer, who worked in Paris for nearly her entire adult life, affiliated for many years with the influential Parisian studio Atelier 17. This work dates from that period, which saw her employing numerous intaglio processes, including color etching and aquatint - her work is technically difficult and original. Large-format print, measuring 19.5" by 15.5", identified in pencil as an artist's proof, titled, and signed and dated 1963. Print is unmatted, under glass, and in a dark wood frame, total dimensions 20.75" by 16.75". In excellent condition save for some nicks to frame and some slight loosening at bottom right corner.
