Like her most recent novel, "Dying to Meet You", much of the crime element takes place in the mind of B.M.Gill's heroine, the middle class wife of a city accountant, whose life changes when she comes out of jail. The author is a Crime Writers' Association Golden Dagger award winner.

Maeve Barclay has spent 18 months in prison for accidentally hitting a policeman with a rock during a protest demonstration. After Maeve's release, her inability to readjust to an upper-middle-class life and her friendship with Rene (another ex-prisoner) and her family entangle Maeve in murder and deceit. While the book's publisher calls this a "chilling new novel of suspense," the plot is more depressing than suspenseful, and the reader anxiously awaits the end of the story to get away from Maeve and her warped view of life. Not recommended. Gill is the author of Nursery Crimes and The Twelfth Juror .
