About the Author

Kris White was born in the west Texas, windy city of Amarillo. From her tire swing on the family farm, she prayed and dreamed that God would use her in a special way to touch the world. In 1991, she married Duane White and has served with him in various ministries for the last 20 years, including children's crusades and seminars, youth ministry, church planting, and missions trip leadership around the world. In February 2000, Duane and Kris launched Beyond These Shores, a missions network called to equip, empower, and engage the local church worldwide through pastors seminars, leadership training, crusades, and short-term missions trips. She helps lead many of the BTS mission teams as well as speaks at national and international teaching seminars and ministering in churches and conferences. In April 2007, Duane and Kris planted The Bridge Church in Denton, Texas, which has seen amazing growth in its first few years and is reaching many, first time believers. Kris has a powerful testimony of how God delivered her from compulsive eating, which led her to lose 56 lbs. She has ministered in over 15 nations and served as a missionary to the UK. Her special passion is to stir up faith that will move us beyond our comfort zones to change the world! Kris, and her husband, Duane, live in Denton, Texas, with their two daughters, Kelsey (18) and Ashton (14), and son, Cody (16). She has a Master's in Ministry degree in Christian Leadership from Southwestern Christian University.
