Michael Burkard teaches in the MFA Writing Program at Syracuse University and at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. He has received prizes from The American Poetry Review and the Pushcart Press, and fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center at Provincetown, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
