Synopsis
The laconic L.A. private eye Mike Faraday is commissioned by 80-year-old recluse millionaire Adrian Zangwill to investigate death-threat notes he has received. Mike and his blonde secretary, Stella, find a bizarre set-up on Zangwill's melancholy estate. In the heavy rain which continues throughout, Mike is soon at grips with a brooding mystery at the heart of the millionaire's problems, and a 40-year-old death is finally explained in a gripping vault finale.
