"Hey Paula, I just wanted to let you know that I truly enjoyed Remember Guam! What a great set of experiences you have captured! In reading those, I recall mine and how I miss those days gone by."
Remember Guam was written to capture the memories of natives and visitors alike. This book also includes recipes not found in A Taste of Guam. Each recipe has a corresponding video on the author's website.
"Paula, Aloha and Hafa Adai! Hey, we used your YouTube instructions for making empanadas...what a HIT! Thanks very much for the posting and keep up the teach!"

Hafa Adai! Yes, that's hello in Chamorro, the nativelanguage of Guam.
I've been working on Guam's 1st erotic historical romance novel since 2006, and it is now available on Amazon!
Conquered is a passionate love story, as much about its main characters, Guam native JesiTaimanglo and American GI Johan Landers, as it is about author Paula Quinene'spassion for Guam itself. As her characters try to find a place for themselvesamid the war, Jesi's relatives, and the Chamorro traditions, Quinene charts apath through a seldom told story: Guam's place in WWII. An original ideawritten with an original voice that invites readers in to the exotic world ofthe Pacific, complete with coconut trees, banana doughnuts, dolphins swimmingin the ocean, and moonlight on Pago Bay, Conqueredalso recounts the brutal horrors of the Japanese occupation on Guam, a USterritory largely forgotten back in the States. In addition to learning about asingular and little-known culture that has played a part in the world wars ofthe Pacific, readers will undoubtedly crave the recipe for banana doughnuts.
--Stacey Donovan, Writer, Editor, and Author of Dive
The sequel to Conquered, STORMED, is in the works: Liz and Manny survived the ravages of Super Typhoon Omar, but can their love withstand the storms of life on Guam? This new book should be available by summer 2020.
Paula Quinene was born and raised on Guam. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1997 with a bachelor's of science in Exercise and Movement Science, hoping to return to the island as an anatomy teacher. A resident of North Carolina since 2000, Paula's homesickness or "mahalangness" have resulted in her Guam cookbooks, A TASTE OF GUAM and REMEMBER GUAM, and her WWII erotic historical romance novel set in Guam, CONQUERED. Paula's second Guam romance book, STORMED, is in the works, and should be completed by the summer of 2020. She is a pastry-chef-at-heart, thus MACARONS MATH, SCIENCE, AND ART, was a pure pleasure to write. Paula's home on the web is paulaq.com.
