After a short introduction to the sport and the basics of competition, the book launches into performing the moves, giving step-by-step instructions for throws, pins, and choke holds. The images use arrows to show the direction of movement, a technique that largely works to describe what both partners should be doing, and that will be enough for students already studying judo. Unfortunately, the book does not stress the importance of practicing with an instructor, and some of the more advanced techniques could be dangerous if tried alone.
