As a result of unexpected circumstances the one year stretches to six. Along the way as an American with limited prior travel experience, he encounters unfamiliar and often strange customs, laws, and business practices, as well as extreme culture shock. He also learns to appreciate the beauty of the land and most importantly the freedoms offered by often taken for granted in his own country.

Patrick James Roelle is a general contractor/developer living in Oregon. He is married to Colette and has four children. He has traveled extensively throughout his career. This is his first novel.
