Kimiko Hahn was born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y. in 1955, to two artists, Maude Miyako Hamai, from Hawaii, and Walter Hahn, from Wisconsin. She holds degrees from the University of Iowa and Columbia University. Her work has appeared in such publications as "The Washingtown Review," "Contact II," "Agni Review, " "Lips, Heresies," " Conditions," and " Another Chicago Magazine," and she was an editor of Bridge: Asian American Perspectives. Hahn is one of three authors of 'We Stand our Ground: three women, their vision their poetry'(Ikonm 1988); 'Air Pocket' is her first individual collection. She has taught at the Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church and at the Parsons School of Design, and currently serves as Project Director of Word of Mouth, a multi-cultural arts project which offers readings and workshops. Among her awads are fellowhips from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Ted Hannan, and their daughters Miyako Tess and Reiko Lily.
