A pastiche of stories, biographies, poems, etc. that deal with two salient existential themes: Death and alienation. Contained within the book's pages are stories about real vampires (Elizabeth B thory and Gilles De Laual) with bibliographies; gothic horror; a serial killer's genisus; various beasts; uncertainty and dread, etc., etc., etc. The work is a revelation about the dark side of humanity's quest for meaning. Essentially the work expresses a theology that has long been repressed, but is moving into vogue as the expectations of the millennium begin to wane into absurdity. Rev. Klein's Soul Shadows is rapidly becoming a cult classic that along with his other works will reshape the history of the world for the next millennium.

Eons ago when the earth was young the power of speech was shared by all living things. Birds and fish, trees and herbs, insects and reptiles all spoke. The world was much different then. Throughout the fields and meadows, forests and glens one could hear the music of speech coming from every living thing. This ancient world was much more harmonious because everything could communicate with every other thing. Haplessly, the world changed. Speech retreated from the lips of mother earth's living family.
During that distant time, many lives and many life forms past, I happened to over hear a conversation between a grasshopper and an ant. It was a fine summer's day. The air was warm and clear. The sun was bright and radiating its life-giving forces to the earth. I sat by a stream contemplating questions of theodicy and ontology. Suddenly, my reflections were disturbed by some of the most beautiful singing I had ever heard. The lyrics were poignant. The melody was absolutely enchanting. I gazed down from the rock which supported my body and spied a wondrous, shiny, green grasshopper. His arms were outstretched to the blue heavens above. His head swayed back and forth to the rhythm emanating from his mandibles. All who heard his wondrous song were mesmerized by its beauty. That lone, verdant insect was certainly inspired by the great Goddess whose love we seem to have forgot.
