Gavin Macleod had reached his goal to become a ruler. He watched the world suffer from natural disasters which he had inflicted and knew that it was only a matter of time before humans would be asking him for help. Accidentally finding a portal during his teenage years had given him an opportunity. His association with aliens, realms, the supernatural and past leaders had provided him with an advantage in his game of life. His plan had been accomplished or so he thought. In the shadows, someone else, from another species had ideas of grandeur. A superior being had watched him from a distance. He had watched other aliens split Gavin's soul. He had watched Gavin try to change history and get involved with the ones who were supposed to be eradicated. He had watched young women try to seduce Gavin and watched while Gavin made wrong decisions. The being wanted a puppet so he integrated with Gavin for another motive and stayed in the background to manoeuvre him. There was only one problem and that was a woman who stood in his way who had her own ideas. A goddess watched over Gavin and the alien being. She felt responsible as she had let Gavin through his first portal and would give up her life to change the past. Others had sacrificed their lives to help and were about to do so again in their spirit form but first there was a puzzle to solve and to end the suffering, a relic from ancient times was needed to trap his soul. The end was not what she expected but life is always unpredictable when there is a snake amongst us.

Kristina Evans spent her childhood in Wales and while the adults shared stories at the local pub, she stayed at home with spirits of a different kind. Her grandmother provided protection but the experience remained until the family moved to Australia. Kristina learned how to block out the supernatural and being busy helped to strengthen the barrier. As time passed, energies tried to make contact and signs were provided but always ignored. Then a change of events found the author writing. Kristina was asked to work in a shop and experienced boredom. Trying to keep busy was impossible so she took up reading and heard the voice. Hoping that it was the chatterbox in her head going into overdrive, she turned to scrap-booking and wrote in her daughter's book. For a moment, the voice was gone but once pen was put to paper, she knew she was no longer writing about her daughter. The spirit came through with her message for others so Kristina left the shop and opened a laptop to allow spirits to share their stories of what they learnt when they lived amongst us.
