Synopsis
La última aventura de Carlota nos invita a conocer a cinco famosas pinturas de la escuela puntillista en las que se aprecian escenas de la vida junto al agua. El marco de la acción un caluroso día de verano, Carlota y su abuela buscan una piscina para refrescarse y al no encontrar sitio deciden entrar al museo.Carlota provoca tal agitación con sus chapoteos que el agua comienza a salirse a borbotones del marco del cuadro, ¿cómo conseguirá detener el torrente de agua que se ha formado dentro del museo?Acompaña a Carlota a descubrir a los pintores de la escuela puntillista como Georges Seurat, el creador de esta técnica que emplea los colores puros que brillan con tal intensidad, miles de puntitos de colores que capturan la escena y la atmósfera. Sus más famosos Bañistas en Asnières, Tarde de domingo en la isla de La Grande Jatte y Puerto de Honfleur. Paul Signac admirador del estilo de Seurat, sustituyó los puntos por cuadros en El Retrato de Félix Fénéon y Camille Pizarro, con Mujer tendiendo y lavando, también es una muestra del estilo puntillista que podrás apreciar en la aventura de Carlota por el museo. James Mayhew nació en Stamford, Lincolnshire (Inglaterra) en 1964, y estudió Ilustración en el Colegio de Arte de Maidstone, donde se graduó en 1987 con matrícula de honor.El primer libro para niños de James fue El museo de Carlota. El primero de una serie de libros sobre arte para niños que el periódico The Times describió como ¿un concepto brillante¿. A partir de aquí desarrolló la colección de libros con su misma protagonista.En 1994 recibió el New York Times Award y sus libros se han publicado por todo el mundo.

About the Author
James Mayhew studied at Maidstone College of Art and his first children's book, Katie's Picture Show was published in 1989. It's been firmly in print ever since, recognised universally as the original and best introduction to art for children. Many more titles have followed, and the series sells in museums and galleries all over the world, from the Met in New York, to the Uffizi in Florence, the Louvre in Paris and beyond. He is also the creator of the much-loved Ella Bella Ballerina series, and many other titles. Alongside his work in publishing, James has devised and performed in a hugely successful series of concerts for children, combining live classical music, storytelling and live art. From Peter and the Wolf, to Scheherazade, James has worked internationally with many different orchestras and musicians, creating illustrations in time to music. James grew up in Suffolk but now lives in Hertfordshire.
