Synopsis
Within the emerging world of Progressive Christianity this book seeks to present the Bible, God, and Jesus in ways and language that are believable. Today's traditional churches are losing increasing numbers from their congregations because of the impact of biblical literalism. In the wake of an historical-critical method of biblical scholarship, along with parallel progress in the sciences and other academic disciplines, viewing the Bible as the inerrant, infallible word of God is simply not adequate to our modern experience. The author provides the reader with a modern view of the Bible, God, and Jesus that gives integrity to our beliefs, but does not rely on myth, superstitions, and literal translation.

About the Author
The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Frantz is a retired church pastor who began his ministry in the Baptist tradition before becoming a minister in the United Church of Christ. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Pacific School of Religion. Dr. Frantz and his wife, Yvette, are now retired and living in Boynton Beach, Florida.
