About this title:

Synopsis: The centerpiece of this impressive collection of Albrecht Fuchs
photographs (nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize
2008) is Fuchs' photos of the controversial conceptual artist Martin
Kippenberger, whose untimely death in 1997 cemented his reputation
as the enfant terrible of contemporary German art. In an homage to
Joseph Beuys' foray to the American West, Fuchs took Kippenberger
to Dawson City; but wherever the two worked together, they struck
sparks of creativity. The book is published in an oversized format,
carefully printed with rich full color reproductions. An amazing follow
up to Fuchs past publication, Portraits, and a must-have for
Kippenberger followers.

Book Description Condition: Sehr gut. 36 S. mit zahlr. auch farb. Abb. Sehr gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - Aus dem Vorbesitzt von Reinald Nohal, ohne Eintragung. (Paris Bar, Berlin). Book Description Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. Published spring 2008, Albrecht Fuchs' selection of photographs entitled Portraits has been nominated for the Deutsche Boerse Photography Prize 2008. The press had already reacted euphorically to the publication of this book, crowning the photographer from Cologne the "artists' darling." This nickname is illustrated amply by the catalytic initial series of photographs that Albrecht Fuchs took of Martin Kippenberger in 1995. Fuchs accompanied him to Dawson City, to his studio or to the Black Forest and in so doing, served his "apprenticeship as a photographer," as he puts it. The huge phenomenon Kippenberger understood his photogenic power and used it calculatedly in his dealings with photographers to tease out the most faithful representation of his idea. The degree to which Albrecht Fuchs has allowed himself to be inspired by this process has aided the photographer to find his own independent and sensitive style of portraiture. The book is published in a special format, carefully printed and finished, in a small, limited, and signed edition.
