Wise references, including (in Sadleir's article) an assessment of the influence of Wise on bibliography: 'Unfortunately, on the balance sheet of his bibliographical achievement (a thing apart, be it remarked from his achievement as a collector-dealer and the important part he played in the development of author-bibliography) the rest is debit.
