Vol. 1: xvi, 494 pgs,frontis with tissue, index, plates, top edge gilt. Vol. 2: xii, 483 pgs, index, plates, top edge gilt. Both volumes in 1/2 leather with orange cloth. Spines are stamped, covers have stamped crest. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Minor rubbing and wear to edges and leather corners. Interiors have bookplates from former owner (John Gerard Heckscher), else they are both clean and tight. Enclosed is a typed letter signed from bookseller B. F. Stevens informing him the two volumes have been posted and, as of 27 April 1894, the two volume set is already "very scarce". Each book has chapters by some of the outstanding hunters, authors, and sportsmen of the time: Sir Samuel Baker, W. C. Oswell, Warburton Pike, F. C. Selous, W.A. Baillie-Grohman, Abel Chapman, and others. Great set of books, very scarce in this limited edition. NOTE: Additional shipping will be required for these large, heavy volumes.
