The photojournalist Jurgen Schadeberg was born in Berlin in 1931 and, while still in his teens, worked as an apprentice photographer for a German Press Agency in Hamburg. In 1950 he emigrated to South Africa and became Chief Photographer, Picture Editor and Art Director on Drum Magazine. He returned to Germany periodically and this volume presents his work made there betwee 1942 and 2012. Photographs by Jurgen Schadeberg; essay by Robert Lucius. 168 pages; duo-toned b&w and color plates throughout; 10.75 x 11 inches. Text in German.
