Jeanneret - Complete Works," occurs at the time when Le Corbusier is entering his fifties. When one considers the wide range of his activity and its total effect, one is amazed to find that this great achievement, so rich in new ideas, has been accomplished in the space of only twenty years. Today, his is the best-known name in contemporary architecture. Indeed, it is scarcely going too far to say that no artist was ever more generally known or more widely discussed during his own lifetime than Le Corbusier. In the popular mind, he is the originator of a completely new style of architecture - the "Le Corbusier Style."
