Book condition: near fine, very scarce first edition with dust jacket, this is a biography of the pre Muhammad Ali whose brashness and skill in the ring led him to the top of the boxing world, the author interviews those who surround Clay and follows Clay in order to relay his own account, includes eight pages of b/w photos of Clay in the ring along with numerous candid photos, dust jacket features b/w illustration of Clay on front and shows creasing to front corners with a .5" tear at top left and a one inch tear to top right, there is a one inch tear to back with a few smaller tears to bottom back, spine tail and head show creasing with a .25" chip off head, two smaller chips off tail, backed with archival paper, mylar cover, slight darkenkng to back half of fore edge, black cloth boards in excellent condition as is the interior, binding tight, 255 pages, 5.75 X 8.5 inches.
