An uncommon early edition of Dorothy L. Sayers' detective novel, in the original cloth. The first 2/6 edition. First published in 1923. Whose Body was Sayers' debut novel, and the first to feature her much loved protagonist, Lord Peter Wimsey. The story sets Wimsey on his path of amateur crime solving, following the death of a man found in the bath. By Dorothy Sayers, noted crime writer and one of the Queens of Crime, alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh. In the original red cloth binding. Marks to the boards, including some evidence of prior tape removal. Splitting to backstrip. Bumping to the extremities, particularly to the head and tail of the spine, resulting in some splitting to the cloth. Internally firmly bound. Age toning to pages due to paper used. The odd spot.
