Four of the six coloured plates are of classic salmon flies, one of teh coloured flies has a smudge mark, and a large portion of the text is devoted to tying salmon flies as well as recommended patterns for various rivers. Publishers burgundy cloth, the cloth clean and unfaded.VG The title page is dated 1885, below the words sixth edition "revised and improved (to which is added a memoir of the author 1887)", Francis died in 1886.The memoir extends to 16 pages.
